Polymer Gloss Varnish & Medium serves as a gloss finishing varnish and a glossy additive to the paint. This varnish will help maintain colour intensity with a gloss finish comparable to that of oil paintings.

マティス絵の具と混ぜることで、光沢と流動性を増します。最終のコーティング用のワニスとして使う場合は、強力で保護力があり、粘着性の無い透明なフィルムになります。MM７ポリマー・グロス・ワニスで仕上げた作品は、油絵具で描いた作品のように、又はエナメルで描かれたもののように仕上がります。 MM６マットワニス are freely inter-mixable to achieve a semi-gloss or satin finish. MM7 dries completely clear, is non-yellowing, and it will remain flexible. Polymer water-based varnishes may appear to be slightly hazy whilst in solution. This optical effect is produced by light refraction of acrylic particles suspended within the water-based medium. The effect disappears when the film is dry.

使用方法：

アクリル絵の具は乾燥が早いので、ワニスを事前に水に混ぜる際には配慮が必要です。どれだけの水を混ぜるかは、天候や湿気、どれ位の厚みで塗るかによって変わってきます。目安として、１０−２０％の水をメディウムに混ぜていき様子をみてください。最高５０％まで混ぜることができます。

ポリマーワニスを暑い日に圧塗りのレイヤーにする事は、水分を中に閉じ込め、曇ったフィルムになる可能性があり、さらにそれを修正する事はとても難しい作業になります。

全てのマティスペインティングメディウムは互いに混ぜ合わせる事が可能です。例：ポリマー・グロス・ワニスは MM６マットワニスと混ぜる事で光沢度の調整が可能です； MM８スプレッダーメディウムと混ぜる事で、耐水性の度合いや、流動性をコントロールする事が出来ます。

それでもなお、アーティストは事前にテストをする事によって、個々の特質や、良い効果を誤って排除してしまわないように気をつけなければなりません。例） MM５マットメディウムを使った作品は、ポリマー・グロス・ワニスを使う事は懸命ではない等

塗布後の乾燥時間は、１−２時間ですが、これは気候などに左右されます。乾燥の時間を早めようと、ドライヤーやヒーターなどは使わないでください。亀裂の原因になります。MM７ポリマー・グロス・ワニスは、油彩の上には使えません。冷凍もしないでください。

MM７ポリマー・グロス・ワニス＆メディウムは、アーカイバル品質で、黄変し、保存性に低いPVA糊（図工などで使われる糊）の代わりに使うこともできます。

A varnish is a clear coat applied over the top of an artwork. It has two main functions - to give an even sheen to the work, which will, in turn, help to bring out the full intensity and beauty of the pigments and to protect it from several different areas of attack, such as wear and tear and airborne grime and chemicals.
